2023 Show - No Biz Like Show Biz
No Biz Like Show Biz was a thirty minute spectacle centered around the holiday entertainment industry. The show highlights memorable moments from many Christmas shows, movies, and TV specials we all know and love!
In total, there are over 50,000 incandescent lights, controlled by 170 unique channels. The program contains nine songs, three voiced segments, and a three minute static countdown that all come together into one spectacular show! To pull it off, preparation began in April and setup started in October. Well over 1000 hours went into the programming alone!
Something new this year, to aid in the theme, is the ability to project video sychonized to the music on the house!
2022 Show - Return of The Radio
This was my second year running a synchronized light show! This year's design was completely different from last year and was started from scratch all the way back in April. The underlying theme this year was "Return of the Radio". Many songs this year were timeless classics and new renditions of those classics as well as some jazz/big band Christmas numbers. The show featured twelve songs, two voiced segments, and a two minute all on countdown. In total, there are over 50,000 incandescent lights, controlled by 169 unique channels, with a full run time of 30 minutes. Some highlights of this year's display: a 22ft mega tree, pixel screen with 400 nodes, and a 25ft star on the roof! Over 1000 hours went into the programming alone!
2021 Show - The Polar Express
This was my first year doing a synchronized light show! The show features four song and one clip from The Polar Express movie. All synchronized with nearly 50,000 incandescent on 99 computer-controlled channels! Some highlights of the display were a 22ft Mega Tree, a 21ft inflatable train, and a train track made entirely of lights! The shows layout was designed to mimic scenes from the movie, begin to end. Caribou on the track, to a frozen lake of lights, to a giant Christmas tree, and everything in between!
2020 Display - Maybe Christmas Is a Little Bit More
This was my fourth year putting together a static display and it was my most ambitious design yet! My goal for "Maybe Christmas Is a Little Bit More" was to fill out as much area as I could. Just like the over-the-top-ness of Whoville! That area was filled by just over 40,000 lights! Some unique features to this display were the light panels on the fence, a hanging Grinch un-decorating the house, and pathways throughout the display.
2019 Display - Winter Wonderland
This was my third year of static Christmas light displays. It was about the size of the previous displays combined. "Winter Wonderland" was set up similar to the former year with a couple of major differences. The idea was to bring in more white lights across the entire display to give it a wintry feel, in addition to the red and green. Both the lake and the mega tree grew this year to the size used today. In total there were about 33,000 lights!
2018 Display - Holly and The Ivy
This was my second year building a static Christmas light display. It was roughly over double the size of the previous year, boasting about 20,000 lights! Affectionately named "Holly and The Ivy", the idea for the display from the beginning was to focus on red and green tones. This design implemented a number of elements that continue to appear to this day, such as the 25ft roof star, boarder, and snowy lake scene.
2017 Display - The Beginning
This was my first year putting together a static Christmas light display. There were no fancy effects and it was very simplistic in design. There was no theme in mind for the display but I now refer to it as "The Beginning". Overall there were less than 10,000 lights and the "mega tree" was only about 11 feet in height. But it could only grow from here!
